But Still I Am One, which has served at-risk youth in Waldo County since 2021, have joined us at Midcoast Maine Homeless Coalition. (See “Youth Programs” in the menu above). Now, community-based prevention, youth support, and Family Harbor House’s transitional housing services are all be under one organization.
Thank you for your continued support of Family Harbor House! This transitional housing for families has become a reality. It welcomed its first families on January 3, 2026, and now houses four families. In June 2026, one of the families was able to move out to a home of their own. Midcoast Maine Homeless Coalition (MMHC) works to end the cycle of homelessness for individual families in Waldo County, Maine through innovation and collaboration around affordable housing and this program is designed to do just that.
Family Harbor House also seeks compassionate community members to assist local families experiencing homelessness. Our transitional housing program provides a safe, welcoming place for parents and children to rest, regroup, and work toward stable, permanent housing. If you are interested in volunteer possibilities, fill out the form on this page. You can join the 110
persons already approved and trained to volunteer.
